Fire escape – Mumbai, India

Employees are evacuated as smoke billows from the Maharashtra state government buildig in Mumbai, India, on June 21. Hundreds of employees were evacuated from the seven-story structure as more than two dozen fire engines battled a major fire that raged for more than three hours in India’s financial and entertainment capital.

Whether it is the sari clad women gardeners at an ancient garden

Or the sari of  local women devotees at Lakshmi Narayan Temple

or orange capped, barefoot pilgrims from Gujarat,  in dhoti

to the stained glass that adorn  the arches of historic pavilionsto the street food of Jal Mahal

–  tomatoes, beans, corn kernels, nuts and  lentils

to my heavy ethnic Rajashtani dress by the entrance of Birla ( I wore this for much longer than intended! And I never removed the bindi on my forehead)

Jaipur is a city splashed with a myriad of colors. And it wasn’t even Holi!
